What must Satan do to beat God?
Better get our armor on for battle!
Genesis 3:14-15; Ephesians 6:10-17
Satan knows what he needs to do to beat God, and Satan has been focused on accomplishing this from the very beginning (Gen. 3:14-15). God’s plan calls for people to be born into this world as the sinners we are (Rom. 3:10-12, 23; John 3:1-7), and then for everyone to hear God’s Word of forgiveness and love (Rom. 10:13-21). God will provide for a perfect payment to erase our debt (our sin against Him), which will be the death of the prophesied Messiah—Jesus (God in the flesh—Phil. 2:5-8; John 1:1-18; Col. 2:8-9). Jesus will die to pay for our sins, and then God will make a final judgment about exactly who loves Him. And, those that don’t love Jesus (who are not “born again” – John 3:1-7), will be eternally separated from God (John 5:23-29). Jesus will do the judging, and execute the judgment—The end!
To accomplish all this…to restore us back to a relationship with God that we all once had (Eph. 1:4-5, 11), God will provide a Savior in human flesh…born into this world just like us, except the Savior will be a perfect, sinless human. Only a perfect, eternal, sinless, uncreated being can pay for all of our sins against a perfect, eternal, sinless, uncreated God. This process of providing our Savior began with Eve, and continued with the Jewish people through the birth of Jesus—the perfect, eternal, sinless, uncreated being who is fully God in the flesh. This process will continue with the Jewish people into what is called the End Times, when Jesus, our Savior, will return on the last day, called in Scripture “The Day of The Lord” (Rev. 19).
Satan, knowing all this (after all, it is all written down in the Bible), from the very beginning has tried to stop God’s plan from taking place—stop the Savior from being born, and stop the Jewish people from reaching the last day. The very first attempt to destroy the birth of Jesus into the world was when Cain killed Abel (Gen. 4:1-8). Some even suggest that when Eve bore her first child (Cain), that she had once again been deceived. Eve’s remark: “I’ve gotten a man from the Lord” is interpreted by some scholars as: “I’ve gotten a man, even the Lord.” She thinks she bore the Messiah (just as Mary bore Jesus—a unique human creation by the Holy Spirit for the Spirit of God to dwell in). Some think she mistook Satan for God (as Satan is continually imitating God), and that she actually bore a son from Satan (Cain). Were they twins? In the Hebrew, the word “again” can mean “continued,” thus, indicating twins. Some believe that Eve had one son from Adam (Abel), and also a son from Satan (Cain). This is a very dangerous area to speculate in, because various cults can spring from those who wish to misuse this interpretation. One must be careful here, even if this is one’s understanding (see also Genesis 6). Note, additionally, that Cain is not mentioned as a descendant of Adam (Gen. 5:1; 1 Chron. 1:1). Either way, whether Satan’s child, or Adam’s child, Cain did kill Abel, which destroyed the line from Eve to Jesus (her seed—Gen. 3:15), as Cain’s lineage is cursed (Gen. 4:11). God blessed Adam and Eve, and she bore another child, Seth, and from this lineage would come Jesus eventually, the promised Messiah, the Savior (Luke 3:23-38). As the generations developed after the death of Abel, on down through the years, God saw that Satan was corrupting the lineage of the people, so that eventually no lineage would be actually fully human as God had created them in the beginning (Gen. 1:26-27; 6:1-4). And, if this were to succeed, then a line to the fully human Messiah (the Savior), would be impossible. God saw that only Noah’s bloodline had not been corrupted after many generations, and God brought on the flood to do away with the corrupted mankind, in order to preserve the fully human lineage for the Messiah (Savior) to be born. Noah is perfect in generations, in bloodline from Adam. In Genesis 6:9, “blameless,” or “perfect” is “without blemish,” and, “in his generations,” or “in his time” is “in his descent,” or “family history.” The Hebrew word for “perfect” is “taman,” which means “without blemish”—a reference to physical purity. God had to destroy the “mankind” (Gen. 6:7), because the human population had actually become a “hybrid mankind”—genetically altered. Only Noah was “perfect” in his generations (bloodline—Gen. 6:9). Noah’s bloodline was perfect, not corrupted by Satan (Gen. 6:9—the King James says “perfect in his generations” and the NAS says blameless in his time—the Hebrew is “without blemish in his bloodline”). After the flood of Noah (which killed all the corrupted flesh beings), the children and generations of Noah spread all across the world (Gen. 10). From the lineage of Shem (son of Noah), would come Abraham, onto Isaac, onto David, onto Joseph, onto Joshua, and onto Jesus—the promised Messiah. During these generations, Satan would offer many ways to destroy the possibility of the Savior, the Messiah, Jesus, ever being born. For example, one of the great-grandsons of Noah, named Nimrod (Gen. 10:6-12), is called a mighty one (gibbor in the Hebrew), which means a giant—not fully human. Once again, just as in Genesis 6:1-4, fallen angels were infecting the populations after the flood (Gen. 6:4—also afterward), and Nimrod formed one of many false religions fostered by Satan to pull us away from the truth (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). This same problem was taking hold in the Promised Land. Abraham was given the promise of this land (from the Nile River over to the Euphrates River) being the eventual “Promised Land” (Gen. 15:18-21). This “Promised Land” was exactly where Satan’s fallen angels began, once again, corrupting the human populations, so as to destroy the promised Messiah (Jesus) from being born to the nation of Israel that God would send there. After the Exodus occurred, and when it came time for Joshua and Israel to enter into the Promised Land, God instructed Israel to destroy all of these nations—even babies born to them (Deut. 20:16-18; Josh. 6:21, 8:18-29). Satan was destroying the human population, and therefore, God commanded Israel to destroy the hybrids (giant) nations, so that their perversions would cease. There are three Hebrew words to identify giants—nephal, rapha, and gibbor. The Bible gives numerous references to the generations of these various giants, beginning with the grandson of Noah—Nimrod (Gen. 10:8—“mighty one”—gibbor/giant). Nimrod led eventually to Amraphel and the Rephaites (Gen. 14:1-5—rapha/giants) at the time of Abram. Other great families were the Amakin, descendants of Amak (Num. 13:21-33—nephilim/giants), the Ammorites, also known as the Zamzummins (Deut. 2:19-21, 3:11—rephaim/giants), even up to Golaith and the Philistines (1 Sam. 17:51—“champion”—gibbor/giant). God warned Israel not to mingle or intermarry with these nations, and to destroy them (Lev. 20:2-5—Molech-leader of the Amalekits—malek is Hebrew for “angel,” and Acts 7:43 links Moloch—malek—and rompha/rapha/giants). See also Deuteronomy 7:1-3, 20:17-18; and Ezra 9:1-2. Jesus warned us that, “just as in the days of Noah,” this will also occur in the last days (Matt. 24:37-39; Rev. 9:1-12; Dan. 2:40-43; 1 Tim. 4:1-3). Note that since the time of Jesus, that evil has been restrained (2 Thess. 2:3-10), but that evil will return in the end times (Rev. 9:1-11). Ready to put on your armor? Eventually, the Messiah Jesus was born, and Satan again worked through Herod (the king), to attempt to kill the baby Jesus (Matt. 2:1-16). Even though that failed, Satan worked through various peoples and groups to try and have Jesus killed during His life by stoning or other means, which would have not fulfilled the prophecies of the prophets concerning the Messiah and the prophecies of His suffering and death (Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53). Satan failed at tempting Jesus (Matt. 4:1-11), and also failed to have Him killed before Jesus completed His mission here on earth. Jesus completed His mission, and took the sins of all those who will trust in Him onto Himself, so that we can be forgiven, receive salvation, and be welcomed into His kingdom (John 19:28-30; 2 Corin. 5:21). Many believe the war is over. Many believe that Satan is cooked. But, Satan does not believe this. Satan believes He has one more opportunity to overcome God. God’s plan does not end with Jesus taking upon Himself all the sins of all those who will trust in Him. Many millions of peoples need to be born into the world, hopefully to be saved—“born again” (John 3:1-7). God tells us that the end of days won’t occur until the fullness of the Gentiles is complete—In other words, there is a specific number of babies to be born into the world before the end will come (Rom. 11:25; Luke 21:24). This number is directly related to the number of the angels which have fallen (Deut. 32:7-8—Septuagint reads “angels of god”- not “children of Israel” ; Rev. 12:1-4 – one-third of the host of heaven fell). Some of the fallen angels/host stayed true to Satan (Jude 6-7; 2 Pet. 2:4; Gen. 6:1-4), while others are born into this age to be reconciled back to God (John 3:1-7; Rom. 5:10-11—see Study, “You Asked for It” – Target Truth Ministries.com). God’s plan is laid out in the prophecies, written down for us to understand how this age will end…and how the millennium, the resurrection, the rapture, and His eternal kingdom will begin (Rev. 20:1-6). And, these prophecies of the end of days all require the same thing…the existence of the Jewish nation, and the temple of God. In these last days, Satan has provided the nations of the world, even the Jewish people themselves, many, many alternatives to worshiping God, with the purpose of destroying the truth (God’s Word). The further we are removed from understanding God and His plan for our salvation, the easier it will be to destroy the Jewish people and eliminate the possibility of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, as well as causing people from all nations (including Islamic nations), to go to their death without being saved by faith in Jesus (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Currently, Satan’s plan seems to be working. In America and Europe (which historically have been two primary locations of Christianity), people have slipped away from faith in Jesus. Their faith has been replaced with science and evolution, health and wealth, abortion and euthanasia, gay marriage and self-indulgence, and also many other faiths, some of which claim to be Christian, but are not…such as Mormon, Christian Science, Jehovah’s Witness, and many others who do not believe in the Christian understanding of Jesus being fully God (see “Trinity” in book “God’s Plan/Satan’s Plan”—Target Truth Ministries.com). If Jesus is just a creation of God, and not fully God in the flesh (which is what these other faiths believe), then Jesus cannot pay for our debt of sin. The sin against a perfect, sinless, eternal, uncreated, God…must be paid for by a sacrifice or payment made by a perfect, sinless, eternal, uncreated Savior—our God and Savior are One (Isa. 45:5, 15, 21 – there is no other). Satan knows that if he can destroy the Jewish people, and the possibility of a temple to God in Jerusalem, that Jesus cannot return as prophesied in the Bible. If Jesus does not return, then Satan will not be bound (Rev. 20:1-3), and the resurrection and rapture will not occur (1 Corin. 15:22-28, 40-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18). Satan believes this, and tragically, the world is allowing Satan plenty of time for his plan of exterminating the Jewish people to take hold. Those who study the Bible are well aware of exactly what is going on. Zechariah 13 tells us that, even worse than WWII (when one-third of the Jewish people perished), that Satan’s war against Israel will result in two-thirds of the Jewish people perishing. All would perish if Satan had his way, but Jesus will intervene and save one-third. It is sad to see the world negotiating with Iran and other nations who declare their intention to destroy all the Jewish people. The nations who are led by Satan know exactly what their objective is. However, the nations who have departed from the Bible are clueless in understanding exactly how to respond—trying to make peace with the devil. Many nations of the world have left God… left the Bible… left Jesus, and are poised for destruction. Only God’s intervention will stop Satan, but not before millions perish due to “Christian” nations aligning themselves with nations whose objective is the elimination of Israel and the Jewish people. Furthermore, we must remind ourselves that this destruction will reach Europe and America, because when Satan destroys two-thirds of the Jewish people in his attempt to eliminate them all, this will require that millions in America and Europe will be killed as well (only about one-third to one-half of the Jewish people live in Israel—the rest are in America and Europe). Even if every single person in Israel is killed, Satan will still need to slaughter millions elsewhere. For the Christian, our response to these times must be what Paul encouraged us to do—put on your armor and be prepared to fight a war (Eph. 6:10-17). This is a spiritual war, and the very first thing we must put on is our belt. A belt? Yes…the belt of truth. Truth is the key to everything else. If the world could understand the truth, then Satan could be easily side-lined while all the babies that need to be born are born (not aborted). But, the nations are ignoring the truth, and allowing Satan to purge millions of souls in his attempt to beat God. As Christians…true Christians, we must know the truth and put it on…show others the truth…share the truth. Let’s be clear here…Christians are not called to carry out judgment upon others who do not love Jesus. Jesus, when He returns, will carry out the judgment. Christians are called to arms, and the weapon of choice is the sword—the Bible—the Word of God—the truth (Eph. 6:17; John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Having your sword (the Bible…the truth) in the closet, or under your bed, or on a shelf collecting dust won’t do…we must be ready to use the truth in this battle we are now engaged in. We need to have the Word in our minds and hearts. We need to use the Bible every day. Like soldiers, we must practice our faith. A soldier is always ready, and continually practices using his weapon. The final battle has begun…are you ready? Use the sword to defend your family, friends, and neighbors…don’t let others perish. Jesus will execute the actual judgment when He returns (Rev. 19). It will be too late then to dust off the ‘ol Bible. We must be like the military, and be prepared, and know our weapon inside and out…and use it! This is a call to arms, and sacrifice. We, who are true Christians, need to protect and defend our families, our friends and neighbors…sacrifice our “self” for the cause of Jesus (Matt. 16:24-27).
